Effective Learning Techniques

When we read news in a news paper we read it for our general knowledge what is going on in the world around but when we need to learn something which is a part of our study and more over we are going to be assessed on that learning further more we will use that knowledge for our profession as well, then it becomes very important, not only learn that topic or subject properly but to remember for years. Traditional ways of learning where a teacher, pass-on the knowledge to students through normal teaching process, does not work. In this type of learning student does not know how to implement and use the information in a creative and constructive way. However effective learning really needs good methods and techniques for learning.

While deciding the learning techniques we really need to understand the various aspects of the subject to be taught. Jot down the different learning methods to teach that subject to students.
A very important aspect is the age and level of the learner. Now there are various factors which play vital role to understand an individual learner e.g. background and the living environment of an individual. These things determine the ability to understand and perceive information.

Here are some of the different learning techniques:

  • Learning through Visuals: In this style we use images and pictures to transfer the information.
  • Learning through Audio: Learners can be taught by using Audio and sound.
  • Logics based learning: Here the transfer of information is done by using logics and reasoning.
  • Learning through Linguistic style: Such learners are good in verbal skills and that’s why information can be better transferred through verbal or in written form.
  • Open environment: Also effective learning can happen if the environment is open, supportive for questions and suggestions.
  • Motivation: If a learner properly being motivated in a supportive way to achieve outcomes such learning style really helps a learner.

We should ideally combine these techniques together to create an effective method of learning.
In this way information can be remembered for a longer period of time.
